Sow Good Seed - Sow to the Spirit
Galatians 6:8 (Amplified Bible) "For he who sows to his own flesh (lower nature, sensuality) will from the flesh reap decay and ruin and destruction, but he who sows to the Spirit will from the Spirit reap eternal life."
Sowing to the Holy Spirit means that when He speaks, be obedient and do what He says.
Romans 6:13 - 14 (Amplified Bible) "Do not continue offering or yielding your bodily members [and faculties] to sin as instruments (tools) of wickedness. But offer and yield yourselves to God as though you have been raised from the dead to [perpetual] life, and your bodily members [and faculties] to God, presenting them as implements of righteousness. For sin shall not [any longer] exert dominion over you, since now you are not under Law [as slaves], but under grace [as subjects of God's favor and mercy].
Romans 8:13 - 14 (Amplified Bible) "For if you live according to [the dictates of] the flesh, you will surely die. But if through the power of the [Holy} Spirit you are [habitually] putting to death (making extinct, deadening) the [evil] deeds prompted by the body, you shall [really and genuinely] live forever. For all who are led by the Spirit of God are sons of God.
James 3:18 (Amplified Bible) "And the harvest of righteousness (of conformity to God's will in thought and deed) is [the fruit of the seed] sown in peace by those who work for and make peace [in themselves and in others, that peace which means concord, agreement, and harmony between individuals, with undisturbedness, in a peaceful mind free from fears and agitating passions and moral conflicts].
Breaking away from the things of the flesh has been an age old problem for the church. God's people will never be able to release the things of the flesh unless they are willing to embrace the works of Jesus on the cross. Romans 6:13 says to offer yourself to God as though YOU have been raised from the dead to life. This is an act of faith. Faith is merely believing what Jesus did and standing on it (act as though it has already happened). This is how we please God, by faith! This is also how we walk or sow in the spirit.
When Jesus "paid" the price for "all" on the cross, He did more than just take our sins, He (God) placed us into a place of "righteousness." 2 Corinthians 5:21 "For our sakes He made Christ [virtually] to be sin Who knew no sin, so that in and through Him we might become [endued with, viewed as being in, and examples of] the righteousness of God [what we ought to be, approved and acceptable and in right relationship with Him, by His goodness]" (emphasis mine). The question "is", did we become the righteousness of God? The answer would have to be "yes". If the first part of this verse is true likewise the second part also has to be true. We need to see our sin gone. Jesus bore it on the cross, and righteousness restored. The price "paid in full." Jesus paid for our sin and He also paid for our righteousness. Not only our righteousness but actually the righteousness of God.
Now we need to sow ourselves to this righteousness. You say, how do we do this? Just "believe" it. The same way we believe that our sin is gone, the same way we believe that we are the righteousness of God, in Him. Now some may say that the bible says, "our righteousness is as filthy rags." That is true of the sinner or carnal mind, because a carnal mind shows hostility toward God. But because we came to Jesus and embraced the work that He was sent to do "We have been changed." We must loose our old identity and see ourselves as new. Since we are "new" in Christ Jesus we must start yielding ourselves to this newness.
Remember that the things of sin cannot have dominion over you any longer. Some may believe this, but still say that the "devil is as a roaring lion going about seeking whom he may devour." That's what the bible says in 1 Peter 5:8 "Be sober, be vigilant; because your adversary the devil, as a roaring lion, walketh about, seeking whom he may devour;" but we must also realize that; in 1 John 3:8 "He that committeth sin is of the devil; for the devil sinneth from the beginning. For this purpose the Son of God was manifested, that he might destroy the works of the devil." This verse says that the sinner serves "Their lord," the devil. They are slaves to him and do his every bidding. But, we now belong to Jesus, thus, "For this purpose the Son of God was manifested, that he might destroy the works of the devil."
You know, on the cross Jesus said these profound words, "It Is Finished." What is included in this finished work? None other than the "destroyed works of the devil." Praise God this IS Good News!
John 10: 11 - 12 "The thief cometh not, but for to steal, and to kill, and to destroy: I am come that they might have life, and that they might have it more abundantly. I am the good shepherd: the good shepherd giveth his life for the sheep."
He gave His life so that we can walk in abundant life. Now we are to walk in this life (Romans 8:13 - 14) being led by the Holy Spirit. And as James 3:18 says, reaping the reward of righteousness.
Jesus said in John 12: 31 - 32; "Now is the judgment of this world: now shall the prince of this world be cast out. And I, if I be lifted up from the earth, will draw all men unto me."
The word judgment in the original Greek means "to right that which was wrong." In John 5:21 it says God judges no man but committed all judgment unto the Son. Jesus Christ came into the world for the purpose of JUDGEMENT ...and I believe He accomplished what He came for! Christ Himself said: "NOW is the judgment of this world!" How much clearer could it be! I have come to bring a verdict - Guilty or Not Guilty on mankind. Listen to what Christ said in Matthew 12:20: "A bruised reed shall he not break, and a smoking flax shall he not quench, till he sends forth judgment unto victory." Are you still looking for victory? Victory took place 2,000 years ago. We no longer are looking FOR a victory, but walking FROM one!
Jesus said in John 9:39 "For judgment I am come into this world that they which see not might see, and they that which see might be made blind." His purpose for coming into the world was judgment! The verdict beloved was.....NOT GUILTY! "Father forgive them, they know not what they do." Even in the natural you cannot be tried again if you are judged innocent. To be tried again is called double jeopardy and it is illegal, in the court system of America. Can we see that our judgment came 2,000 years ago through the man Jesus Christ? God said He was satisfied with that travail of His soul, can we be satisfied with what Jesus Christ did for us?
So Jesus is telling us in these scriptures what would be accomplished by His death. He was about to fulfill all the types and shadows that men had been walking in for 4,000 years and replace them with reality! Are you still walking in types and shadows or are you still waiting for more to happen to make you do something? Do you still have a Judgment Day looming over your head? If you can get a full revelation of what Jesus is revealing you will be able to call it "Today" and see when your judgment really took place! This process frees us from walking in the "lower nature, sensuality, or our own flesh ways."
Look what else Jesus said, "now shall the prince of this world be cast out." In John Gill's Exposition of the Bible he states: "the prince of the world", is much used by Jewish writers, by whom an angel is meant; and they seem to design the angel of death, which is the devil: and it is certain, that he is here intended, and is so called, not because he has any legal power and authority over the world; but because he has usurped a dominion over it, and has great power and efficacy in the hearts of the children of disobedience, who yield a voluntary subjection to him, as if he was their proper lord and sovereign: now the time was at hand, when he should be cast out of the empire of the world he had assumed, and out of the temples of the Gentiles, and out of the hearts of God's elect among them.
John Wesley said Now - This moment. And from this moment Christ thirsted more than ever, till his baptism was accomplished. Is the judgment of this world - That is, now is the judgment given concerning it, whose it shall be. Now shall the prince of this world - Satan, who had gained possession of it by sin and death, be cast out - That is, judged, condemned, cast out of his possession, and out of the bounds of Christ's kingdom.
The devil is NO longer prince of this world! He was cast out! So now I declare that we need to "sow" ourselves to the truth of what Jesus accomplished on the cross of Calvary.
Romans 6:22 - 23 (The Message Bible) "But now that you've found you don't have to listen to sin tell you what to do, and have discovered the delight of listening to God telling you, what a surprise! A whole, healed, put-together life right now, with more and more of life on the way! Work hard for sin your whole life and your pension is death. But God's gift is real life, eternal life, delivered by Jesus, our Master."
Galatians 6:7 - 8 (The Message Bible) "Don't be misled: No one makes a fool of God. What a person plants, he will harvest. The person who plants selfishness, ignoring the needs of others - ignoring God! - harvests a crop of weeds. All he'll have to show for his life is weeds! But the one who plants in response to God, letting God's Spirit do the growth work in him, harvests a crop of real life, eternal life."
John 4:14 "But whosoever drinketh of the water that I shall give him shall never thirst; but the water that I shall give him shall be in him a well of water springing up into everlasting life."
Are we ready to release old beliefs and paradigms which have kept us in bondage, so that we can receive the life Christ came to give?
